A Baby Shower gift or favor

My new Baby Shower gift or favor is now available in my Etsy store. The timer is set and your little bun in the oven is ready! These recipe books are all full of muffin recipes, the front of the book says:
“Your Baby is due soon
She’ll get hugs and lovin’
Because she’s your little
Bun in the oven!”

The wording can changed for a boy and a name can be added, and you can even add "timer set" and then the due date! I made these books slightly bigger than my regular books, because these can hold up to 16 recipes instead of 12, but are the same 5" x 7".
Some of the recipes I added include Apple Streusel, Lemon Blueberry, Carrot & Raisin and Raspberry Cheesecake. Check it out at my Etsy Store

All the craze at the craft shows

Just amazing these days what can be done with pretty much anything you have lying around the house and I wanted to share this craft, just because I think these are really cool. For the person who was sitting at home one day and suddenly decided that they would make bags out of capri sun's and kool aid juice packages, my hat goes off to you!

Because this bag craze was all the rage at the craft shows last year, and they were very popular at $10 each. Yes I bought one, just because I was interested in seeing how they were made, and the words "Oh I can do that" did pop out of my mouth, but when realizing how many Juice packages I would need and the whole process that goes into making these bags, I realized that this would be one craft I would admire but not attempt.

There is a lady on myspace who makes these bags and she is truly amazing and creative, our Treasuer at Cub Scouts has one, and it has pockets galore and even a matching wallet!

A double sided Thomas blanket

My first ever double sided blanket. Normally when I make my blankets the top fleece is a pattern or a licensed character, and then the underside is a plain/solid fleece in a matching color. Recently I had an order for a Thomas the Tank Engine blanket but the customer wanted a Thomas print for the underside as well.

The top was a panel print

The underside was a patch print of different characters from Thomas the Tank Engine
It turned out really cute, and I think I will have to try doing some different double sided blankets in the future.

Some of my Favorite Blankets

I wanted to share some of my favorite blankets I have made over the years. Most of the time I do my up most to match the top fleece to a solid color fleece for the underside, sometimes it is easy, and other times it is hard to decide which solid color goes best.
But here are some of my favorites:JUNGLE BABIES
The print on this blanket is so cute!, and incredibly soft, the underside of this one was a light green.

TINKERBELL
This blanket was just over a yard, the small size that I make. Why I love this one is the underside fleece that I used was awesome because it had every single color in it that the Tinkerbell print had.

ANIMAL SQUARES
This fleece was a brand new design, and sooooo soft. I used a light purple solid fleece for the underside. I actually made a pillow to match this blanket and sold it as a set.

So just a few of my favorite ones I have made. Because I take custom orders, most of the customers tell me what they want, but when I make blankets for my Etsy store and for craft shows, I get to have fun picking the fleece fabric!

I must be crazy...................

So sitting here, kids are in bed, and hubby is at class I decided I know I don't have enough going on in my life, I will start another blog! Crazy I know, but it will be a great way to show case my crafts, I have my web site, I am on Etsy, one more bit of advertising won't hurt, plus it will be FAB to share what I am working on. I am going to be 35 this year and I am a stay at home Mom to our youngest son, who is 3, and we have an 8 yr old son as well. I am very lucky to be able to be here for both my boys, despite the fact that my hubby probably wishes I would stay away from the craft stores!

When it comes to crafting, I have this habit of saying "Oh I can do that" and I buy the supplies and have a go, sometimes it becomes a passion and sometimes it ends up in the trash. But for the most part I try my hand at anything. For the past couple of years I have been making the No Sew Fleece Blankets, love making them, although crawling around the floor on my hands and knees is hard (I am not getting any younger!) I love working with the fleece fabric. From making the blankets I branched out and made pillows and ponchos, all 3 have been a great success.

My new craft is handmade recipe books, made from card, paper, scrap book paper, embellishments and ribbon. I saw these at a craft show last year, and the lady was selling these for $8 with 6 recipe, yes the words "Oh I can do that" came out of my mouth, so I set to coming up with my own spin on them. Surprisingly I had all the supplies in my craft boxes, and they were fairly easy to make. It has been fun coming up with different sets of recipes and designs. I have even branched out into making them as wedding favors and baby shower gifts/favors.

The above two crafts are my passion, but don't be surprised if I suddenly tell you all about a new craft I have tried or suddenly found!
